Moving house… and merry Christmas!!!

Yesterday I moved house! Not into my new apartment but into my parents’ brand spanking new house. Yes, I still live with my parents… I moved back to Jamaica over 2 years ago and was staying with them until I got sorted out, finally I’m nearly sorted and just waiting for the woman with the dogs to move out.

Anyway, as I was saying, we moved house yesterday. Rather mad to move quite this near to Christmas but the house is only just ready and we wanted to be in for Christmas. We wanted to move out of the country we were living in where people come to the gate any time from 6am, where trucks blow their horns all hours of day and night on the corner by the house, where water is a luxury and where we hear gunshots fairly regularly.

So now we are in Kingston. Smack in the middle of civilisation. And it’s great. I didn’t realise how quiet the city is. There are no crickets outside, no mad man coming to the gate at 6:30 for his breakfast, no taxis turning in the gate and no dogs barking! But it’s also really light. There’s street lights and everything around.

I am a city girl really and after 2 1/2 years living in country, I’m glad to be back.

The only problem – the internet isn’t connected at the new place yet! So this might be my last post for a week or two.

So I’ll just take this opportunity to say Merry Christmas to y’all and Happy New Year in case I’m not back by then!

When I visit Jamaica and stay with my aunt in the country and then my godparents in Kingston – I too notice a major difference.

Merry Christmas and all the best for the New Year KG! Here’s hoping the woman with the dogs will hightail it out of your place sooner rather than later.

So lets get this straight, your ‘about me’ and blog title said you lived in Kingston but all this time you lived out a bush?

Maybe its coz I am new here but this doesn’t raise a red flag for anybody else?

Good to know that you’ve moved to a more comfortable place, even if it’s temporary for you. I think you need to firebomb that dog lady and her dogs!

Enjoy the rest of the holidays.

Adrian, it’s because in her heart she’s a Kingston Girl, doing all her socializing, business work in Kingston. She just slept in the bush country 🙂

    Happy New Year KG!
