Little bits of not much

1. It’s Friday! Which means I’m off to Ochi for the weekend – and I’m counting the hours. The plan for the weekend involves lying on the beach, sunbathing, drinking, eating, people-watching and sleeping. I can’t wait.

 2. I went to Portland for work yesterday. That is such a cruel thing to do to someone. I had to drive all the way there, sit in meetings and drive all the way back. I didn’t get a chance to go in the sea, not even one toe, and I didn’t get a chance to eat any jerk pork. However, Portland did look it’s usual goregous self from what I could see through the windows.

 3. I got another flat tyre this week. This is my third flat in 2 months. Basically whenever we get heavy rain, I seem to get a flat. I can’t wait to move off the hill and back into Kingston.

 4. Following on from 3, I will be moving… valuation and surveyor’s report are done, mortgage is approved, all I am now waiting on is the money to be disbursed so I can get the keys and get renovating. When will this take place? Oh, apparently it will take about 2 – 3 months for them to disburse the money!

 5. And finally, I bought a new phone! And got laughed at by the man in the shop. Basically, I used to have a baby pink razor phone. It was very pretty and was a gift from the ex, and it dropped calls. All the time. And as he bought it in the US, it would cost me a fortune to get it repaired. So I have replaced it with a phone which is worth less than 1/2 the price. At which the man in the shop laughed and told me I was dumb for changing from a razor to ‘that’. I explained about the dropped calls and he was like I should still keep the (crappy) razor over the new phone that works as it looks better! Oh well, obviously I misunderstand the point of a phone – i thought it was to make calls!

It’s funny to me that you have a history of problems with cell phone sales staff.

You can get good money for your raz-r … at least $10K. What kind of phone did you get? You should check out that tyre thingie. Sounds like it needs some more detailed attention. Girl, I’m waiting on the keys for my house too … I’m actually waiting for my house to be completed. Should be January and I’m counting down now.

The tyre – it’s 3 different tyres that have had flats – my two back one and one of my new front ones – it’s just that the rain washes things like nails onto the road which my car likes to pick up.

Got a sony ericson k301i – will keep the razr for now – use it as my spare phone!!! What did you decide on Gela?

You should have probably tried having the razr flashed. The call dropping thing usually gets cured by that. If my experience with the SE’s are anything to go by, keep the Razr for a while you may need it sooner than you think.

Sorry KG, it’s basically to remove the limitations that the different carriers place on the phone. It returns the phone to its original format from the manufacturer i.e. motorola. Out here it costs about $2000.00 If you need the numbers of persons who do this sort of thing I can post them for you.

more ignorance from me… the phone was bought on a network in the states and then it was unblocked here. So this flashing thing is different ot having it unblocked??

(and sorry, but the word flashing makes me laugh – thinking of people running onto football fields and taking off their clothes!)

lol….sounds funny for real especially when you put it that way. Yeah the flashing is a little bit more than the unlocking. the unlocking just opens the network. It would be the equivalent of formatting a computer. The motorolas in particular have the option of using 3 bands or 4 bands. Chances are the one you have was only opened to 3 bands so one is still locked out. That would explain why it keeps dropping calls. It is only receiving a weak signal from whichever provider you are using.

I could swear that I left a message here already.

Anyway, I got a moto w360. It’s a Tri-band so I hope that I don’t get that drop call problem. I might have to come to you scartchie for the numbers of the flashers.
