Change of status

I haven’t posted recently for 3 reasons:

1. I tried this weekend but blogger kept eating my posts
2. The internet has been miserable and not working for me – but the technician says everything is fine now….
3. I haven’t really felt like it

I did go to Jazz and Blues, and I am sure that some of the performances were excellent. However, my ability to enjoy them would have been vastly helped by not spending the weekend in a foul mood arguing with the bf. You know when things aren’t going too well and you think that a weekend out of town will help… but in reality it just makes everything come to a head?

So, moral of the story is that I am now a single girl in Kingston. On the positive side, to quote a friend apparently I ‘don’t have a tree in my face’, which means I should be able to find someone else! And yes, I know it is for the best in the long-run etc, not meant to be, better to know now rather than later, and all the rest of it.

But it still hurts like hell. Because, worst of all, he’s one of the nicest people I know which means that I can’t just hate him, curse him, plan nasty revenge etc and get over it. Instead, I have to just try and remind myself that it is the right thing and that, in time, I’ll stop crying and eating chocolate.

Hi Kingston Girl, this post made me sad for you, I know how that feels.

And I’m such a romantic, I hate break ups, I want everybody to be happy.

Take this time to recover, then to discover yourself, and more about Jamaica. If you like adventures join the Geography Society at UWI.

My aunt’s favourite line is: “This too shall pass.”

    Hey K-Girl !

    First and foremost:

I know how it is – I’ve had my share of heartache. I know there isnt’ much I can say or do to change things or make you feel better.

But eventually, YOU WILL FEEL BETTER.

In the meantime, keep busy ! It’s time to take a belly-dancing class, to hook up with all those friends you saw less before your new-found celibacy, etc.

You can also blog more. It may help alleviating some tension…

In the meantime, congratulations on your new-found freedom !

    Hang in there 🙂

Bummer! Oh well, its something we all have to go through. Hope you get over it without resorting to mind bending alcohol, hard drugs, and tons of casual sex… that stuff is so old, you know…. still, it IS fun, so do it if you wanna…

Sorry to hear…but yes, it will pass.

I had started to wonder for a moment if we had lost you. We are here to offer support via comments/bloggage if that helps at all.

Sorry about your break-up. They are always harder when it was with a nice guy. Trust me, I was/am still there. But time heals all wounds, and a glass or two of red wine doesn’t hurt.

I only discover your blog now and really like it.
I recently overcame a painful break-up so I guess how you feel.
I am happy that you feel no desire of revenging or hate because I think that makes us even more miserable and depressed.
Here is my favourite quote, which I’ll try and translate :
“Tout ce qui ne me détruit pas me rend plus fort”
=> All that doesn’t destroy me makes me stronger.
As a native french, I can only confirm that wine and chocolate are good companions when you really feel low ;)–>
