Convoluted language…

I just received a memo that started…

‘Pursuant to the above captioned matter received for review and consideration, the following notations were made in respect of the various components that were included therein.’

Does this mean ‘Please find attached our comments on the above mentioned subject’?

If so, why won’t people just say that? And is it no surprise that after this start, I feel very reluctant to read the rest of the memo?

    Second I hate reading anything that is formatted like that.

    basically, if they talked normally everyone would understand them so then their jobs would be redundant – ever read a legal document? ever read one for fun? good luck to you!
