A brighter future?

I had a very quiet weekend. And it was very nice!

Finally, cable tv service has been restored to my house. It took a while… as does everything when you live outside of Kingston. But at least now we have a land line phone (all of the time!), broadband internet (for about 5 days on average before something else goes wrong which requires them to come and fix it, which usually takes them about 4 days), electricity (most of the time) and running water (sometimes).

So I celebrated on Friday night by staying in with the bf and watching cricket. And then ended up doing the same but at his house on Saturday. And was kinda encouraged – ok, we lost. Badly. But at least we looked like we wanted to be there. And like we wanted to try. Who knows, maybe one day we will be able to be proud to be windies supporters again!!

Hopefully, and yes, I am being very optimistic here, some of that pride will be restored by World Cup 2007. Because lots of my foreign friends are planning on coming down for it. And it would be too much to bear having them all gloating all the way through. Oh well, at least there is always the mound to drown our sorrows on!

Entry filed under: I haven't got round to sorting these yet!.
