The end of the flood

The rain has stopped… finally! The sun has finally reappeared. Everyone is now driving around with their car windows open, trying to get rid of the damp that had grown in there.

So what was it really like? Well, apparently it took people over 4 hours to drive from Kingston to Portmore – that’s a 30 minute drive usually. There are some scary photos of the amount of flooding that went on in some parts of the island. The roads now resemble a lunar landscape (even more so than normal!). School kids got a week off school.

But the sun is out again now. So Jamaicans will resume doing the 2 things that they do best… protest (let’s blcok some roads about the flooding – what do you mean that the Prime Minister couldn’t stop the rain?) and surviving. Jamaicans are incredibly resiliant – which is fortunately when this was our 4th brush with a hurricane in just over a year! So we will survive. We will rebuilt. But yes, we will have a good time complaining while we do so!!

have any links in the pothole filling industry? – must can come up with a more than 1-rain solution… yes it rained a lot but this is ridiculous all traffic moves at 5mph because of the holes… pothole free by 2003 – yeah the road will be one big pothole, no road left…

Yes!!! Exactly!!! Why couldn’t the PM stop the rain?!? Here we had some big waves that the President ought to have stopped.

Let’s all go to the beach in Portland and protest in the warm blue sea.
